I did another shoot for the LAPP last week. They wanted to get individual headshots for the board mambers, as well as a group shot. I did a very typical headshot setup with 2 lights for all the individual pics, then I had to move into the board room for the group shot. Here I used 3 lights to keep the light in the room up near the same level as the exterior light, so we could use the downtown as a nice background.

Well, what a bout. There were a lot of new faces on the Black Gold Diggers last night, and at the risk of sounding sexist, I have to say they must have got the new girls from Victoria Secrets derby shcool. Not only is the BG team the most beautiful bunch of ladies assembled on skates, they also dominated the Pistolitas right from the start. The LP’s got into some penalty troubles, and the BG’s took advantage. I saw stratagies played that I haven’t witnessed before. Good job ladies.

A couple years ago we bought a car from Harry & Niaz. As part of the sale, I offered her a photography credit. They gave me a call this year to use it. It was kind of a dual purpose session, for her nieces birthday, and for some family photos.

I recently did the team photos and indivituals photos for the Keyano Swim Team. This was a very high pressure shoot due to the fact that we had to get about 160 kids individual photos done, as well as set up and take the team photos for 8-9 teams in another spot. I wanted to set up a 2 light scheme for the individual shots to give them some pizazz, and them kept the team shots really basic with just one light. I managed to set up, and put through all the kids, then do the teams, in less than an hour and a half. They still had time to swim.

When Kyle needed to update his look on his headshots, he knew exactly what kind of a look that he wanted. Something similar to Ryan Gosling’s photo on IMDB. So I set this up for him and we got the look he wanted. This looks like a 1 light set up, although it is actually 3. The 2 lights on the BG are really not doing much other than making it a neutral grey.

I had a couple of ladies call me up last minute, because their photographer bailed on them. They had scheduled a boudoir session, and had booked hair and makeup already. I fit them in on a saturday afternoon, and we had a blast. I would love to show you all the great stuff we got, but I picked out just the ones that will preserve their anonymity. I set up about 7-8 different lighting schemes and backgrounds, (which in retrospect I would keep to a minimum next time due to the amount of time and effort to do that many changes of set.) and we made quite a variety of really neat pics.

I had the pleasure of shooting some maternity photos with country singer Colleen Rae and her husband yesterday. We had met once at an event she was playing. At the time I never even realized she was 6 mo. pregnant. We got some really awesome photos, an while I wish I could take all the credit, I think it was because she was such a joy to work with. Looking forward to seeing little Jack in December for a follow up shoot.
